Dreamknitters Supports Community-Driven Projects in Lagos

Organisations, collectives, and change-makers in Lagos and surrounding communities are invited to apply for support from Dreamknitter’s Local Impact Fund, open between 1 July and 1 August 2025. The fund is designed to empower community-rooted initiatives , whether small or large , that strengthen local creativity, well-being, and cultural development.

“Lagos has always been close to our heart,” says Tajudeen Lawal, Head of Brand Engagement at Dreamknitter.

“This city has inspired so much of what we do, and we believe in giving back in meaningful, lasting ways. The Dreamknitter Local Impact Fund is our way of supporting projects that are led by passionate individuals and rooted in the everyday life of the communities we work in.”

Bringing Ideas to Life

Since its launch, the Local Impact Fund has supported a variety of grassroots projects , from creative youth programs to fashion-led empowerment collectives.

One such initiative supported last year was “The Threads Collective” in Surulere , a youth- led project providing free sewing workshops for unemployed women.

“The support from Dreamknitter helped us expand and buy better tools,” says project coordinator Kemi Adeyemi.

“But more importantly, it gave our work visibility and credibility. We now have more volunteers, and the project is growing beyond what we imagined.”

Dream-driven. Community-built.

At Dreamknitter, we believe in the power of grassroots impact.

This fund is our way of ensuring that local visionaries — the people who live the dream every day — have the platform, support, and recognition they deserve.
